Community Guidelines
We hope to provide a space for climbers of all experience and ability levels to connect, share information, ask questions and create a strong community banded together by a love for the outdoors and the preservation of the environment.
We will be working hard to ensure that this remains a safe and friendly space for people to engage with relevant issues and topics of discussion. To this end, any posts or posters that go against our community guidelines will be investigated and removed if necessary. Please read the below Community Guidelines carefully to ensure you understand the rules of engagement, and report any unacceptable behaviour to the moderators at info@goodbeta.co.za.
Stay Safe
Rock climbing is an intrinsically dangerous sport, and we do not condone any posting that encourages a lack of adherence to appropriate safety measures, or boasts of unsafe conquests.
Stay On-Topic
This is a rock climbing community and forum. We ask that all members refrain from posting irrelevant content not pertaining directly to climbing and its related topics. When replying to posts, keep your answers valuable and relevant so as not to clutter the forum. If you feel that a post or thread has raised a new topic worthy of further discussion, kindly create a new post on the forum so that we can keep threads organised. Post in relevant sub-forums only; messages posted in the wrong topic area will be removed and placed in the correct sub-forum by moderators.
Stay Civil
Respect other users. Any form of bullying or discrimination on any grounds (including race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or religion) will not be tolerated. Users who continue to post inflammatory, abusive comments will be deleted from the forum after two warnings are issued by moderators. No threats or harassment of other users will be tolerated. Any instance of threatening or harassing behaviour is grounds for deletion from the forum.
Please bear in mind that kids and teenagers are likely to be active on this site. Keep all content family-friendly and avoid the use of any abusive or offensive language. Posts containing inappropriate adult content will be deleted.
Please refrain from posting any overtly provocative content; all trolls will be sent to the dungeon.
Stay Legal & Ethical
We support and encourage legal, ethical behaviour both at the crag and within the community. Any posts or comments that encourage or celebrate illegal activities will be removed and may be reported to the relevant parties. Such activities include bolting in restricted areas, trespassing, and bypassing access protocols/permits.
Stay Spam-Free
Relevant advertisements are permitted on the Job Board, Lost & Found and General Community Chat sub-forums. Please refrain from posting repetitive content or irrelevant advertisements. All automated messages, irrelevant advertisements and links to competitor websites will be deleted immediately. If you are seen to be spamming the forum, you will be issued with a warning and may be removed from the site. No reposting of copyrighted materials or other illegal content is allowed. Any posts containing illegal content or copyrighted materials will be deleted.
