Friends and Allies has moved from its previous location at 10 Naaf Street to a larger space at 304 Tungsten Road, Strydompark. The new facility, unveiled to members on Friday, December 6, offers expanded amenities and increased bouldering terrain.
Facility Highlights
The new venue features a significant expansion in bouldering walls, now approximately four times the size of the previous facility. The shiney-new climbing walls are equipped with shiney-new holds providing climbers with an upgraded experience.
In addition to the climbing walls, the facility includes a new bar and an outdoor seating area, catering to those who want to relax and socialise after a climbing session. Community is at the heart of Friends and Allies which is evident in the new layout of spaces and seating areas that encourage conversation. Construction is still under way for a fitness area and studio space coming in the new year.
Opening Dates
Members have exclusive access to the space from December 9–10, and it opens to the public from December 11–20. The gym will close for a festive season break and reopen on January 6, 2025.
The move marks a significant step for Friends and Allies, providing more space and improved amenities to meet the needs of the climbing community. We wish the Friends and Allies team every success in their stunning new home!
