After a long COVID-induced hiatus, the Black Diamond Tradathon is BACK!
For those unaware, the Tradathon is an annual event (barring unprecedented lockdown times) that aims to bring together climbers of varying experience levels to share knowledge, skills and the love of trad climbing. All climbers are welcome – from seasoned trad dads to complete noobs looking to dip their toes into traditional climbing for the first time.
This year, the event will take place over the weekend of 24 & 25 September at the gorgeous Karbonaaitjies Kraal, hosted by the Karoo 1 Hotel Village, which is just a few hours outside of Cape Town. If you’d like, you can come along just to climb, but there are also three different courses on offer if you’re wanting to learn some fancy new skills – Intro to Trad Following, Intro to Trad Leading and the Self-Rescue Workshop.
This year’s event is also offering the option to pre-order some yummy foods for the weekend, and enter a raffle to win a set of Black Diamond Ultralight Camalots size 0.4 – 4 and two miniwire rackpacks worth R15 000!
