Celebrate the great outdoors and do some good for our natural spaces with Table Mountain’s Take a Hike Day celebration!
National Take a Hike Day is celebrated around the world on 17 November, and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company is continuing their tradition of encouraging Capetonians to hit the trails and give something back.
HOW IT WORKS
● Start your hike at Platteklip Gorge, where you will see some TM staff who will give you a bag to collect any trash you see on your hike.
● If you’d prefer to hike a different route to Platteklip Gorge, you’re more than welcome to bring your own rubbish bags and collect trash on the way to the Table Mountain summit.
● When you reach the summit, you can hand in your filled trash bag and receive a free snack pack and ticket for a free cableway ride down the mountain.
● Note that the mountain clean-up will take place from 7:30am to 3pm, and the last car ride down for hikers will depart from the summit at 5pm.
So get out there for a hike (or climb) and give good ol’ TM some love!
