Paris Olympics Climbing Schedule

Watch Sport climbing at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, scheduled for August 5 to 10

The excitement for the 2024 Summer Olympics is building as the opening ceremony kicks off this Friday. Competition climbing is set to take place from August 5 to 10 at the Le Bourget Sport Climbing Venue in Saint-Denis. This marks the second time sport climbing has been included in the Olympics, following its official debut at Tokyo 2020.

Paris 2024 will feature a significant expansion in the sport, with the number of medal events doubling from two to four. The previous combined format of boulder-and-lead will be separated from the speed format, allowing for more focused and specialized competition. This change aims to showcase the unique skills required for each discipline and provide climbers with more opportunities to excel.

In addition to the new event format, the number of sport climbers competing will also see a substantial increase. The roster size will grow from 40 athletes in Tokyo to 68 in Paris, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity and the increased interest from climbers worldwide.

Sport climbing’s return to the Olympics promises to be a thrilling event, with top athletes from around the globe vying for gold. Fans can look forward to six days of intense competition and remarkable displays of strength, agility, and strategy.
