SA Represented at IFSC World Cups

Follow our athletes' performance on the international stage.

The latest IFSC World Cup took place in Salt Lake City, USA from 20 to 22 May 2022 and included Speed and Bouldering. This was an electric event however you cut it, with a few familiar faces on the podiums and plenty of newcomers putting on a stellar performance. Check out the highlights below to see all the action.

We were most excited, however, to seen our local champs Chris Cosser and Calrin Curtis grace the international stage! The pressure was on for our boys, and they put up a savage fight, with both climbers getting all four zones and Chris topping one problem. Calrin also competed in the speed competition, finishing with a time of 7.79 seconds. You can view the weekend’s full results here.

This coming weekend, 27 to 29 May, yet another Boulder and Speed World Cup will take place at Salt Lake City, and we’ll be seeing the return of both Chris and Calrin, along with the World Cup debut of Johannesburg strong sender Lauren Mukheibir. All three athletes will be climbing both disciplines, and we can’t wait to cheer them on as we watch them take South African climbing to new heights.
