A note to all climbers that the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway will be closed for extensive maintenance and cable replacement from Monday 15 July to Sunday 1 September 2024. While routine maintenance takes place annually, this will be the largest overhaul since the cableway was last upgraded in 1997.
The mountain will still be accessible to climbers and hikers, however the following hiking trails close will be closed for the duration of the maintenance:
- Kloof Corner
- India Venster
- Fountain Ledge
- Old Platteklip routes
- Sections of the contour path
This is essential to ensure that we all stay safe and sound while embarking on our adventures – take note of the alternative routes listed on the map above and plan your climbing accordingly!
If your birthday is during the annual maintenance period, you can still get your free cableway ride during September (just remember to bring your ID for verification).
