This coming weekend will see the biggest ever Western Cape Climbing Provincial Championships, with over 100 entrants signed up to compete.
CityROCK Cape Town will host the Top Rope and Lead round on Saturday 28 August, with Bloc 11 South hosting the Bouldering on Sunday 29 August.
Both days kick off at 7:30am, starting with the youngest age categories (U9-13 on Saturday; U9-15 on Sunday). The more seasoned climbers will enter the ring at 13:00 on each day (U15 – Open on Saturday; U17 – Open on Sunday). Overall, it’s set to be an action-packed showdown between some of the Cape’s best climbers.
To accommodate crowds on Saturday, all CityROCK day-pass customers will need a booking for Saturday; kids under 13 must book by emailing capetown@cityrock.co.za. Members do not need to book.
In the interest of health and safety, WCC asks that spectators do not come through purely for the competition. However, if you are at the gym to train you are more than welcome to watch and cheer along!
