Looking for a reason to get out of the city this June? The Black Diamond Tradathon is back, and this year it’s heading to Guano Caves, Montagu on 20 June 2026 – and it’s one not to miss.
Africa’s only roaming trad climbing festival brings climbers of all levels together for a weekend of adventure, skill-sharing, and good company around the fire. Whether you’re a seasoned gear slinger or just trad-curious, there’s something in it for you. And with this year’s venue at Guano Caves, Montagu, it’s also a brilliant opportunity for sport climbers to get involved – so no excuses!
Expect mentorship, community, wild places, and the kind of weekend that reminds you why you started climbing in the first place.
What is Tradathon?
Tradathon is not a competition — it’s a community gathering.
It’s about bringing climbers together to:
- Share knowledge
- Meet new climbing partners
- Explore incredible routes
- Celebrate trad climbing culture
The event is facilitated by RAM Mountaineering and Black Diamond, with a focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and community-driven experience.
So this is your opportunity – a gathering of all levels of climbers to share their skills, to learn from each other, and enjoy a weekend at the crag.
