On Saturday, June 28, a dedicated group of CityROCK staff, enthusiastic customers, 1 on 1 Adventures and members of the Emgwenya Climbing Club came together for a day of path maintenance and route upgrades. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, with blue skies and warm midday temperatures creating ideal conditions for both manual labor and climbing.
The team focused their efforts on the Creche gully and the path along the Tranquilitas wall. Among the significant improvements made were the installation of perma-draws at the Creche, as well as replacements at Pandemic crag, God No and Disciple Wall, specifically targeting the beginner-friendly and popular routes. This initiative aims to reduce cleaning accidents at the crags and ensure more efficient climbing, particularly beneficial for participants in the upcoming Boven Rock Rally.
This collaborative effort highlights the importance of community involvement in maintaining and enhancing climbing sites. A big thank you goes out to the Emgwenya Climbing Club and all the volunteers who contributed to keeping the crags in excellent and safe condition.
