I am a new climber and want to get into lead climbing and faced with having to purchase a belay device. On the one hand, I have been eyeing the Mammut Smart 2.0 as I have heard it is easy to use and reliable. On the other hand, I have been thinking of the Edelrid Mega Jul. I am weary as I have heard that it is harder to use; yet it is far more versatile. Any guidance?
